Ladies and gentlemen, its time for a retrospect of the past season-2013/2014 premier league season.
It was a season of great success with so many hitches, successes, controversies, injuries and heart brakes.
Mourinho's first league season during his second missionary journey at the Bridge has lots of characteristics- the good, the bad and the ugly.
First of all, one of the major highlights of the season is that Chelsea defeated all its rivals but did not win the league. Why? Simply beacuse small teams proved hard-to-play to the chelsea team. Teams like Sunderland, Crystal Palace, Newcastle, Aston Villa were the stumbling block to Chelsea's 2013/2014 league victory.
This means that Jose Mourinho was much more dedicated in promoting his personal record more than that of the club, because if he had taken the small teams like Aston Villa and Crystal Palace as serious as he took Liverpool and Mancity, the trophy would be in Stamford Bridge by now.
However, no regrets!
Secondly, the firing power of Chelsea strikers were nothing to write home about. Eto, Ba and Torres were all the same-there is no much difference! Thus I think we need overhaul of Chelsea's front men totally. The three strikers can be shown the exit door.
Mata was sold because of Jose Mourinho's disinterest in his pattern of play. That was when there was a loophole in the Hazard-mata-Oscar midfield circle. It cost Chelsea!
Jose Mourinho was at the center of controversy this season. To mention but a few, So much money were spent paying fine.
He was fined £8,000 pounds for Aston Villa comment and the most recent £10,000 for sarcastically congratulating the officiating crew and FA after the sunderland Showdown.
Hazard was at his peak so far. As he was left to suffer many times all alone in the middle of the pack.
However, he won the Player of the Month.
Injuries cannot be forgotten, as it played a vitla role in Chelsea's eviction from the Champions league in the semi-final stage. The most conspicuous that affected the team results being that of Petre Czech who's has ruled out for weeks and that of Eden Hazard.
Bookings were also part of the season. The most conspicuous being the sending off of William and Ramires during the mayhem at Villa Park. Those were the most painful booking as recorded by OSSYSPORT. There were lots of Yellow cards.
