Mikel Obi has been in Chelsea since he travelled to Europe to play football. He has been in Chelsea for 10 years now, humbly serving the club to the best of his ability.
But OSSYsport is thinking that it is high about time Mikel Obi left Chelsea. The reasons are not far fetched. Here are the top 6 reasons.
1. Matic. Mikel played the Newcastle game last weekend simply because Matic was suspended. If not he could not have played. Infact that was his first Premier League start since May this year. And on top of that, they lost the match. He has been simply displaced by Matic. There are no two ways about it.
2. Mikel is not an improvement player. He does little or no effort to improve. That is one of his problems. Chelsea are looking for more quality players for that role. And Mikel will soon be displaced. Mikel will do well if placed in an average team like the Likes of Everton, Sunderlanad, Tottenham and Southampton. There is much pressure in Chelsea and he is not gaining playing time, which is very detrimental to his career.
3. He has served the club enough and worth leaving on good note, allowing your contract expire and you will be thrown out will not be better option for him.
4. Mourinho might not renew his contract, and that will make him less valuable before the football market.
5. Age is no longer on his side as a footballer.
6. He needs to improve and carry the mantle of the super eagles on him. Mikel should have done this before now. I do not know what he is waiting for.
