The game initially looked so easy for Chelsea as they got the first lead following Fernando's early minutes strike. The Blues were 1-0 on the lead. But the various attempts made by Chelsea to cement the lead by adding one more goal proved abortive, until they were caught up in the neck at around 65th mins of the game when Galatasaray got the equaliser.
