Diego Costa opened the scoring at the 11th minute of the game, while a rough Matic tackle gave them a penalty that brought the equalizer at the 19th minute of the game. The Penalty was converted by Dusan Tadic.

Every attempt made by Chelsea to get a three point proved abortive.

The battled continued with Chelsea making a lot of pressure while Southampton on the other were making dangerous attempts. Thank God it ended 1-1. It would have been a different story had they scored.
